Mayfield Nursery is a bright, friendly and happy place to learn and play. We’re lucky to have a large outside play area and a very well equipped nursery.
The nursery is staffed by a Nursery Teacher, a Nursery Nurse and other support staff when necessary.

Children in Nursery follow activities outlined in the Foundation Stage Curriculum which charts key developmental points in a child’s learning. Find more information on the Foundation Stage Curriculum here.
The Nursery unit has places for 25 FTE pupils. We offer parents the option of 15 or 30 funded hours from the September after their child's third birthday.

15 hour pupils
The sessions are three hours per day, 5 days per week. Please indicate which you would prefer when you apply. We cannot guarantee that you will get your preference but we will endeavour to accommodate preferences if possible.
The morning session is 9am-12pm
The afternoon session is 12.30pm-3.30pm
If you are not eligible for more than 15 hours you may have the option to purchase additional sessions if you wish. Please speak to Ms Calver in the office if you'd like more information
30 hour pupils
The school school day is from 9am - 3.30pm.
There is a small charge to cover lunchtimes. The charge for 2017/18 is £2 per day/£10 per week. Read our charging policy here.
Children are welcome to opt for a (paid for) school dinner via Harrisons Caterers or to bring in a healthy packed lunch.
We accept applications after the child’s second birthday. Children are admitted to the nursery from the September after their third birthday.
Application forms are available from the school office. You will also need proof of your address and a birth certificate or passport for your child.
